SF Bay Drupal Users Group August 10th 2009 6pm 1436 Howard Street SF
I just got back from LA Drupal Camp and am really happy that Jason Chin from Magic Spark is also going to help us out this month opening this SFDUG meetup with the presentation he gave today at LA Drupal Camp,
Ubercart 2.0, e-commerce with Drupal 6 A practical breakdown on what Übercart is and how to setup an e-commerce website.
Presentation Takeaway: What is required and how easy it is to set up an ecommerce site with Ubercart and Drupal.
This will be a great starter session for those who may have never setup a shop using Drupal and Ubercart.
Following the Ubercart theme we will have a Tips and Tricks session with Mike O'connor from Commerce Guys - who is coming up from LA Camp to do SFDUG with us.
Commerce Guysare the leading ubercart development shop Mike Oconnor and Ryan Szrama are the core developers for the ubercart project.
Mike will go over some cool stuff uberart can do, as well as answer questions, which could be quite helpful if you are building an ecommerce site using drupal and ubercart.
Ecommerce is huge and making great ecommerce sites is easy to do using Drupal, so come on down and join us for another great SFDUG meetup.
p.s. if you have any friends who are evaluating software right now to do both CMS work and Ecommerce you should tell them about this meetup.
Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow evening.

Gira Drupal meets Ubuntu El Salvador

detras: Dmena, dasjo, dkcross, FLux
Grupo Drupal El Salvador

DrupalCamp LA
DrupalCampLA is the annual FREE conference organized by LA Drupal to unite and improve the Drupal Development Community in Los Angeles and the Greater Southern California Area.
DrupalCampLA is an unconference-style Drupal training, founded in the style of BarCamp. While there are some differences (DrupalCamp does more pre-planning on the sessions), they have the common goal of bringing smart people together in an environment that is accessible to everyone.
This generally means that you will have a lot of very smart people in a small space who have all come there with something to share and a desire to learn. Since this is a free+cheap event and on a weekend, we also get to welcome folks who can’t usually take the time or money to go to commercial conferences – so it’s a lot of fun with fresh faces.
Since this is a free event and entirely volunteer run (and no, this is not our day job), we also expect active participation from everyone when it comes to running the conference. This is as simple as picking up after yourself or actively fixing something if you see it’s broken, but please feel welcome to take an active role in making this a great event. We set the stage, but all of you make this happen!
Drupal & SAP Business OneMelbourne Meetup August 2009 @Em Space
This meetup will happen on Tuesday 11th August from 6:00pm, at the " rel="nofollow">Em Space offices at 289 Flinders Lane.
Pizza and beer/softdrink. Plates and napkins! And more chairs hopefully will be here on time, I'd like to handle 30 people easily, last week we had 20. Catering paid by Em Space - it worked out pretty well last week with an optional $5 donation, we'll do that again. Was the ratio of food to people good?
This is going to be about Forms. I'll be presenting on Drupal 6 form coding, how to do a multistep form, how to add validate/submit handlers. We'll look at Drupal 7 form changes. Also there is a GUI form builder, I think by Nate/quicksketch.
Look forward to seeing you all there.

DUB-Treffen im August 2009 @ c-base, Berlin-Mitte
Verdammt für mich scheint es kein "Node clone" zu geben. Also alles wieder einmal händisch.
Jepp. Jeden ersten Donnerstag im Monat (JeDiM) findet ab 19:30 das DUB in der cbase statt.
Also alle fleissig hinkommen und idealerweise im persönlichen Kalender gleich einen Wiederholungstermin eintragen.
Freu mich
Stephan
D7 core docs sprint #2
This sprint will be on Thursday, August 6 from 7 - 9 pm EDT (find your time) in the #drupal-docs IRC channel on the Freenode network. We'll be focusing on the Core patches that need docs and Core issues in documentation component. We will have at least two mentors on hand to help answer questions and work through the issues with folks, so if you are willing to learn a little, please stop by! If you are familiar with Drupal patches and/or reading code, we'd appreciate the help, even if only for 15-20 minutes or so.

triDUG August Hack Night #1
Time/Location
Wednesday, August 05 2009, 6:30 - 9:30pm
Coalmarch Productions, LLC
125 Edinburgh South Drive Suite 200
Cary, NC, 27511
Schedule
6:30 - 7:00pm - Mingle Time
7:00 - 7:15pm - Come up with a list of problems that need attention and who can solve them
7:15 - 9:30pm - Hack away!
Agenda
Ahhhhh! Back from Summer Vacation! It's time to get serious about Drupal again!
Unlike our usual monthly meetings we will not have a presenter on this night. The Hack Night is geared towards folks who are currently using Drupal and are looking from some advice, help with a specific issue or to collaborate with others on a project.
To get the most out of this meeting, come prepared with a specific goal, question or project in mind (or just come with your knowledge and desire to help others!).
What are some questions or projects you plan to bring to the Hack Night? Discuss below!
Concurrent Hack Night Locations
If you have interest in attending Hack Night but Cary is not a convenient location for you, tell us in a reply to this thread! If you have a venue in another location to suggest, that would be even better. We'd love to have enough attendees and enough appropriate venues to be convenient for everyone.
Triangle NC (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill)DrupalDrinks August 11th !
Hey everyone,
We'd love to invite all the fine Drupal folks for a Montreal DrupalDrinks social event prior to DrupalCon Paris, on our not-quite-but-almost-rooftop terrasse (if it is nice) or in the salon (which we humbly call the Master Ballroom), Tuesday August 11th starting at 7PM. We'll offer some drinks, but we won't refuse offers for additional booze. The terrasse is heated so if you tend to be chilly don't worry.
You will meet new folks and see previews and demos of SuperCron and SuperSearch. SuperCron (which was released about 5 weeks ago and already has over 200 installs) gives you full control over the cron process: which hooks to call in which order, which to run in parallel/multitasked, etc. it also lets you recover from exceptions arising in hooks (and captures them as well as any output for debugging purposes). Last but not least for the optimization nuts out there, it gives you production-site statistics on execution times for individual hooks.
SuperSearch is a work in progress; it lets you index your site 11 times faster than search.module (3000 nodes/min on one of our clients' sites), caches search results so that repeated queries can be quickly returned to the user, and helps use search queries as SEO material for Google to enjoy. We are hard at work getting that module ready for DrupalCon Paris, but would love to get your feedback to make it even nicer !
Address available on sign-up.
Cheers,
Louis-Eric
Montreal & QuebecMadison Drupal Users Group -- August
After recovering from DrupalCampWI, we're back on schedule.

WisconsinAugust Drupal Meetup on Monday, 8/10
The August DC Drupal meetup will take place on Monday, August 10th at 7:00 pm at Stetson's. We'll get things going officially around 7:30, starting with a round of introductions so we can all get to know each other, followed by a round of 5 minute lightning talks.
Lightning talks are your chance to discuss a Drupal module, ask a question you have about Drupal to the group, show off a new site that you built, or talk about anything else Drupal related. The only rules are that you have to keep it short - 5 minutes or less - and keep it so that everyone can follow along no matter how often they code with Drupal. If you'd like to give a talk, post it in the comments and/or speak up at the meetup.
Don't be shy if you're just starting or thinking about starting with Drupal. The meetups are a great way to learn and meet people who've been in your place before.
Hope to see you there!
