To repeat what I saw(make sure you have module "masquerade" installed):
1. create a template for node update.
2. enable activity/all page from views, give view permission to authorized user.
3. update a node.
4. open the page activity/all
5. it looks fine because your user id=1
6. switch to a normal user using masquerade
7. all rows on the page activity/all are doubled

it turns out to be a permission issue, some users got double rows, some even got triple rows, some got the same as the super user.

create a template for node update.

Do you meant node view?

Do you have node access module like Organic Groups installed?

I don't have OG, but I have a few roles, and one user might have more than one role assigned.

Are you using roles in your view? Please export and share your view.
