I'm wondering if there are plans to integrate posting status updates or bookmark links from a browser app much as Press This does for Wordpress

This could make it really expedient for a user who's browsing around the Web to store, tag, and maybe include a brief description with a link that gets posted back on their drupal site without having to first sign into the Drupal site. Maybe people can recommend another module for this kind functionality along the lines of Bookmarklet but even faster.

With the demise of Delicious, this kind of quick, cross-browser functionality for posting links or status updates to Drupal would be welcome.

There is a bookmarklet for the share page. Anything more involved than that is out of scope, but sounds like an interesting idea for a separate module.

The 3.x branch will hopefully have Services integration at some point, which will make it easy for third-party apps to post status updates as well.
