Private file transfer is killing me. Media based adult site with apx 150.000 users and 100.000 nodes running on 2 dedicated servers, but still slow performance. Using pressflow, varnish, memcache, solr, apc..
Could http://drupal.org/project/contentprotector work somehow with
http://drupal.org/project/premium module ? Using premium module now. Sometimes a file will change
status without changing directory, so the contentprotector will not work out of the box. My site offers unauthorized access to thumbs, authourized access to fullsize for 1 week and after that only
premium users can access fullsize files. I currently do this via
private frile transfer, but its really hard on the server - and this
looks like a solution. Please contact me if you can make this work..
Or maybe CDN with access control would be better.. ?? Cannot keep thowing hardware at this problem.
