Hi,

I am new to all of this. I installed Drupal and noticed that you needed HTML knowledge to create a new page. I want to create templates for users to write their own pages. I have tried downloading text editors to make this easier for them but havent achieved a complete solution yet. My users will not have any HTML experience what so ever and if anything would like the text editor to look like word. I installed a couple of text editors but found that they didnt have everything I wanted. I thought they were a bit complicated for some of my staff to be able to use (not much IT knowledge). Please can you share any success stories with Rich Text Editors with me : )

I like CKeditor, I would recommend using it with the WYSISWYG module (allows you to configure which buttons are visible).

There are several editors available. I have found that you need to set them up with only a subset of the options so users are not overwhelmed with tools and buttons. You also need to spend some time configuring everything as you want it.

There is no perfect answer to this - you have to experiment with different editors until you find one you like and one that works well with your theme. The WYSIWIG module is supposed to be a good way to instal an editor - I have not found it too useful but have found Tiny-TinyMCE to be a good choice for a limited range of options - it's a cut-down version of the full TinyMCE editor.

I have also found that the Better Formats module helps to set up input formats for inexperienced users and can hide some of the format options that may confuse them.
