NOW:
The taxonomy module allows you to classify content into categories and subcategories; it allows multiple lists of categories for classification (controlled vocabularies) and offers the possibility of creating thesauri (controlled vocabularies that indicate the relationship of terms), taxonomies (controlled vocabularies where relationships are indicated hierarchically), and free vocabularies where terms, or tags, are defined during content creation. To view and manage the terms of each vocabulary, click on the associated list terms link. To delete a vocabulary and all its terms, choose "edit vocabulary".

keith.smith commentedAttached is a patch addressing text in taxonomy.module.
I'm not absolutely convinced that this is an improvement, and honestly, if there is a problem with the original text, it is only that it might be a slight run-on sentence.
If this is an improvement, then great; if not, then I'll be equally happy if someone either has a better suggestion here, or wants to "won't fix" this one.

catchI think it's good to remove "you" from these help texts where possible as this patch does. So RTBC again.

gábor hojtsyIndeed, when translating Drupal I found this sentence to be quite hard to understand even, let alone translate in its completeness. So I welcome to break it up. The only problem I notice in the patch is the two spaces between the now separate sentences, but I removed one and committed the patch in that form. Thanks.
