I have some of the quirks worked out.

It should now work in IE (and possibly Konquer)

there's still a row of closers that appears in IE.
Once I fix that I'm going to work on a custom CSS which will work for all themes.

Check it out, it's pretty cool.

You can download it at the end of the first post.

yep confirmed working in IE. nice job!

It also does not work in konqueror.
Try disabling some of the external Js, like digg and the ads. They seem to contain errors and might break your menus.

Media Temple went down last night so my site was offline.

I believe I have corrected the problem with IE and Konquer.

I'll be working on a CSS that will work for all themes.

Then I'll be try porting it to previous versions of drupal.

The sliding looks great and I'd love to see this developed as a module. I see it working great in FF and well in IE - although the background doesn't show up in IE, and interestingly, the slide-out animation is much slower.

How do I submit this to become a real module?

I would love to work with the community to make this the best it can be.

I have alot of ideas for it, a little bit of know-how, and even less time.

it's not stable cause it's still in early beta stage.

I applied for the CVS and will notify you if it gets accepted.

I just installed another readmade module for sliding menus at my acne site, I have posted the details of the module and the installation procedure at my blog Drupal Sliding Menu, I am not posting here because i arrived here after posting the details there. I hope it helps some of you. I had been looking for this module for quite some time and have been to this page before also and had a hard time finding something good and working for Drupal 5.X, I hope this finding helps.
