Webform error messages

Upon submitting a form, the form fields (if they are required or have any other sort of validation) will be outlined in red like they should be. However, it's not until I submit the form a second time that the error message appear on the screen. Or, if I submit the form once and visit another page the error messages will carry over and appear on the second page.

I'm kind of assuming that this may be a tao issue because this has didn't happen until I began using this theme, but I could be wrong. If it is though, is there something I could do to fix this?
