Hi

I want to install the Drupal 4.7.4 on a php5 hosting company (odsol) .
another company (alpha-one) says that php5 is not stable , they have the php4 only .

what do you think?

Of course, after more than 3 years, PHP 5.x is as stable as PHP 4.x is. But problem is that PHP 5 is not adopted widely by companies and people. Maybe because php 4 is enough powerful. But stability issue that your company talks about is not true. feel free to use it. If you want to use drupal on php 5, you won't have problem at all. You can even go back to php 4 if php 5 didn't satisfy you.

if you use php 5.2. You will have to patch drupal.

using keywords: php 5.2 in drupal.org search will reveal the threads where these patches were created, tested, and released.

for trouble free Drupal. I run 5.16 fine though. Anyone know if those fixes for 5.2 made their way into the recent beta?
