Search query reduces back to minimum characters

Hello,

I have found out that in the Inline search box (block variant) many search query's are reduced back to the minimum characters.

For example:
When i type in the search: Pictures
and my settings for the minimum characters are 2 and a wildcard is placed at the end of the search the next thing happens:
The first results are found on Pictures*, but after a second the results jump to the search Pi* without any interferance from the user. (You can see what it search for after pressing enter, the querry is then showed in the search box from Lucene, this shows Pi* instead of Pictures*)

The main test browser was Firefox, problem also persists on IE (Tested on 1 machine).

The screenshot shows the search querry "aanmaken" where the last 6 letters are not accounted for in the results: "..nmaken" (exeptions are possible because of the weight criteria).

Is this known to anyone?
