I'm using Google's webmaster tools and it's reporting duplicate title tags for every Bible page. The title's all look like this (Bible | My Site) for pages that looks like these:
/bible/1/1JN/5/1
/bible/1/1JN/5
/bible/kjv-str

How can I fix this? I want the title to show up something like the following. Or whatever is best; I just want Google to index all of the pages separately without duplicates.
John 5:1 | KJV | Bible | My Site

I've fix some title issue, please refer http://drupalbible.mikelee.idv.tw/?q=node/25788#comment-295 . I'll suggest that update to latest version.
But.... after I check Google's webmaster tools, "duplicate title tags" is also reported, although there's only one in the HTML source. It's some kind strange to me....

Okay, I think I see the problem. Each of your version is still 6.x-1.2. I use the available updates feature inside of Drupal (/admin/reports/updates/list) to keep everything upgraded. But Drupal says that my module is "up to date" because I have 6.x-1.2. I don't know if others do that too or if good practice but I would think that at some point the minor version number should be incremented so people will know about the new features.

Okay, I tried the latest stable build and that didn't change things. Did you mean that this is a new feature you have in the development version. I rarely use those because I'm on a production site.

Here are the steps to reproduce.

  1. Navigate to http://yoursite.com/bible/1/GEN/1
  2. Note the Title in the Title Bar of your browser. It says Bible | Your Site
  3. Navigate to any other Bible passage
  4. Note the Title in the Title Bar of your browser. It still says Bible | Your Site

    5. So the problem is that Google can't index these properly because there are thousands of duplications. Also, I know, I used to only have 2 duplicates listed and now I have 24. Google is slowly marking the duplicates. :(

I think I got your point. This will take time to go over pages and modify titles. Thanks, and I'll release fixed version ASAP.
