Sorry if I checked a wrong menu option on the project info, but I've never submitted an issue before and am not a good programmer...

fagoYes, the update-manager still has troubles installing the entity API, see #936490: Update module should verify downloaded tarballs and propagate errors correctly. Installing the dev version should work as #1007542: Entity-7.x-1.0-beta5 contains nearly empty .info that serves no purpose has been fixed.

dsdobson commentedI have 7.0-rc3 and tried the beta5 and dev version and got the same message as above.
Comment #3
fagoIt took some time for the dev-snapshot to update, please try again now.

Zarevac commentedSame here, problem persists.
Comment #6
4good commentedSame issue 1:23 PM EST :-) Thanks Really need this to get UberCart going ;-) and Rules enabled
Comment #7
ensignavenger commentedSame here, - going to try the Dev version :)
Comment #8
ensignavenger commentedNo cigar- same error with the dev version.
Comment #9
fagoindeed. correction: Installing the dev version with the update-manager works now if the patch from #936490: Update module should verify downloaded tarballs and propagate errors correctly has been applied to Drupal.
As alternative just install the module "manually", by uploading the files manually.

shadowmihai commentednoob here couldn't figure out how to apply the patch, so I installed manually, seems to have worked.

aspilicious commentedUpdate manager got a major boost last night. But this still doesn't work. Get a mor descriptive message now.
The info file (temporary://update-extraction/entity/entity/entity.info) does not define a 'name' attribute.
Which is strange cause there is a name attribute...
EDIT
Obvius error, entity/entity.info needs to be removed I guess...
Without the file everything is perfect :)
Can we do that before drupal release?
Comment #12
fago>Can we do that before drupal release?
It has been done, please give the dev snapshot a test.
Comment #13
aspilicious commentedI did...
There was still an info file with some genereated code in it saying: this might be deprecated + some packaging code
Some problems with the packaging scripts I guess...
; This file is deprecated and may be removed.
; Information added by drupal.org packaging script on 2010-12-22
version = "7.x-1.x-dev"
core = "7.x"
project = "entity"
datestamp = "1292976683"
Only problem with zip , so it's a drupal.org problem. :)
Comment #14
aspilicious commentedThis means this is fixed :)
