I recently installed Firestats and my girlfriend pointed me to the fact that our website no longer worked in IE6. Since I use Firefox about 99.9% of the time and the site works perfectly in Firefox I hadn't noticed.
First thing I did was check if the caching mechanism worked, after disabling it the site once again worked in IE6. But since disabling cache slows down the site it isn't my preferred solution. So I started thinking about the modules I recently installed being Review and Firestats. Disabling Review made no difference, but when I disabled the Firestats module the site worked perfectly in IE6 WITH cache enabled.
Any Idea what goes wrong and why Firefox doesn't have the problem? Could it have to do with the line the module inserts into each page?
Hope anyone can help, cause I love to turn the cache back on.

omry_y commentedwhat does "not working in IE6" means?
I don't really have an idea as to what's going on, it sounds like 100% server side.

Phoenix77 commentedI have attached a picture of the problem
The layout of my site is so messed up that nothing is shown in IE6
The problem ceases to excists when:
- I disable the firestats module
- I disabe Cache
- I don't use Meta as a theme.
As far as I can tell the problem is caused by a issue between IE6 / Firestats and the Meta theme. It looks like the page generation is broken off. It might have to do with the php reference that is included for firestats to register the page.
I've included the source from the page http://www.vliestroompje.nl/gastenboek to show what happens.
Source of page when using IE6:
Source of Page using Firefox 2.0:
As you can see a fulle HTML page is generated using FF but the HTML code when using IE6 is far from complete.
Hope you can help.

Phoenix77 commentedNice to close the call, but the problem is still there.
Using the firestatsmodule in combination with the Metatheme in drupal 4.7.x prevents IE users to view a cached page.
Does anyone have an idea as to why the problem occurs with IE6? Firefox does not have the problem.

Jay Daverth@drupal.org commentedFor the record, I had the exact same problem. Really drove me crazy because it coincided with a 5.0 upgrade and I tore the site apart looking for the problem. IN any case, I've had to disable the firestats module for completely ruining access through IE6 or IE7 (possibly others) even though firefox is fine.

ancym commentedDo you use GoDaddy?
There is a suggestion here about how to fix this - http://drupal.org/node/127463...
It will take you here, something about a Locked Table permission issue... http://drupal.org/node/40774
Now I must consult an expert...

Phoenix77 commentedTo ancym,
Thanks for the tip, unfortunately it did not solve my problem. I do not use GoDaddy and since I do have lock table rights I do not think the mentioned problem isn't my problem.
The thing that does seem to go wrong is the caching of a page when using the Firestats module in combination with the Metatools theme. As soon a a page is retrieved from cache it is broken, first time page acces is perfect.
Thanks anyway, maybe I'll just need to upgrade to 5.0 / 6.0 and find another theme or statistics package.

Phoenix77 commentedChanged to another theme and no problems until I incorporated the lightbox javascript for my galleries.
The problem is caused by one of the following scripts in combination with the firstats module
as soon as I know more I'll share.
