Hi,
Thank you for such great module!
All user status at my test site are shown as offline (except user 1 is online) at Drutalk contact tab, which makes users cannot perform chat nor video chat eventhough they have established user relationship. Also, I cannot find the installation docs at http://drutalk.com/node/3 (as suggested in other threads), therefore I cannot be sure if I have done correct installation steps.
I believe this is not a permission issue, as I have set enough access and usage permission for authenticated users for UR, Services and Drutalk modules.
I am not sure if this issue is related to Services (I am not realy familiar with this module) as well, however I think it must work fine as AMFPHP status displaying "amfphp and this gateway are installed correctly." message, and drutalk.getFriends
& drutalk.getMe shows it objects (user and friends data).
Thank you in advance.

pm530 commentedHi Lismail:
If you can see user 1 (yourself maybe) online, you've installed the module correctly.
1. You can see the friends in contacts tab -> services and amfphp are working
2. You can see user 1 online -> P2P connection is ready
Just make sure your are using different browsers (IE and Firefox) to open two instances of drutalk.
ps. what's your site url?

lismail commentedHi pm530,
Thank you for your prompt response.
I do not think you can access our test server, as it is behind firewall. I do the testing within our intranet only, with separate PC.
I have found other things. I gave all permission (including administer) to Drutalk, Services and UR, and I set up cross relationship between user 1 and other two regular users. I got the same user offline situation as above. When I checked Services setting from all users, I got /services/amfphp running well for all users, however drutalk.getFriends and drutalk.getMe seems like not working for regular users. From user 1, drutalk.getFriends call methods gave me friends information (2 users) and drutalk.getMe gave user 1 info. From regular user, both drutalk.getFriends and drutalk.getMe call methods did not give any result.
Let me do more test on the situation above, and will be back to you again. In the mean time, I appreciate if you can inform me the installation howto, like in http://drupal.org/node/659698#comment-2386728 (node not found). Just in case I have missed something during installation. Thank you in advance.

lismail commentedHi,
I notice that regular user did not get Adobe Flash Player Peer Assisted Networking confirmation dialog box (allow/deny) when accessing http://sitename/drutalk, while user 1 has it. Probably it makes p2p is not working for regular users (except user 1)?
Btw, I tried to install it at my notebook with WAMP, yet I still get user offline status for all users from different browsers (IE & Chrome).
Please ignore my previous message below, as it is Devel module's permission issue. Once I disabled Devel, regular users with administer services permission can get results from both drutalk.getFriends and drutalk.getMe.
Thank you in advance. Happy New Year 2011 :)

pm530 commentedHi:
lismail, I think I know what the problem is. Your website has to be publicly accessible to use the drutalk P2P Assisted networking.
In order to prevent DNS hijacking attacks (since drutalk depends on drupal's session based authentication, hackers can pretend they own the drupal server by DNS hijacking), drutalk has to validate the drupal server with user sessions. see the "drutalk_name_by_sid" callback in the module.
So, please use a public server to test drutalk.
Best Regards,
Pm530

pm530 commentedbtw, have a look at the 1 year free ec2 hosting, it's cool

lismail commentedHi, pm530,
Firstly, thank you for ec2 information.
You are right about publicly accessible server to use the drutalk P2P Assisted networking. However, this was not the issue as I have tested it also in public server and the problem still there.
After checking high and low, actually the problem is caused by a simple thing.
The P2P Assisted Networking confirmation dialog box won't be displayed to users whose include space(s) within their user name. In my case, my user 1's user name is TestAdmin (w/o space), while regular user names are Test 01 and Test 02 (with space). These regular users are always marked as offline. After changing their username to Test_01 and Test_02, I have these users online and the module work. I tried the same scenario with different server / IP, and I have same result.
Therefore, I will mark this issue status as closed as designed. I appreciate if you could add some info (user name must not has space) to module documentation, to help other users to aware about this issue.
Again, thank you for your support, and also for such great module.

lismail commentedHi pm530:
What a great response. I will test the latest release later after I resolve issue below.
I do not know why, but now the p2p dialog is not showing in both test servers / IP (one in US and another in Indonesia), for all users including user 1. A few hours back, they are running well and so far I do not change anything to either one (still using 6.x-1.2-beta4 with user names without spaces). In my logic, if they are functional before and no change has been made, there must be external factor. That's why I postpone testing the latest release, as it may add complexity to the issue.
Do you think it is posible that it has something to do with Adobe Stratus network, or developer keys or others?
In the mean time, I appreciate if you could take a look to my test server (US). The URL is http://nablab02.co.cc/drtest. You can login with (username/password) test1/test1 and test2/test2. Thank you in advance.

lismail commentedHi,
I've been pulling my hair off the whole day, just to understand the strange situation I have here.
I setup a new test server, D6.20 fresh installation at http://nablab02.co.cc and install Drutalk 6.x-1.2-beta5. However I cannot get the p2p dialog box to be shown all users and render all users to be offline, eventhough the amfphp and drutalk services seems to work fine. Refering back to #8 above, I do not understand why it does not work, especially it has been working well before. On the other hand, I cannot find good reason why it doesn't work as it is a new / fresh installation.
Do you have any idea of the situation I have here? Thank you in advance.
Warm regards,
Lismail

krembo commentedSame to me... Methods work fine and AMFPHP too... But everybody is offline.

dennisyd commentedI have the same problem. Only the user logged in is online. If I login to a users account that user is online but his friends are always offline. I can login to the friends account and I get the same behavior.

nivelula commentedSame problem here. I tried installing earlier versions of the module, but it still didn't work.

miccelito commentedsame problem for me. everybody who are online and on my friendlist (user relationships) are still displaying as offline in drutalk window. but i am pretty sure when i installed drutalk at first time when the module was released it worked and online users were displaying as online. since then i have updated to latest drutalk module. didn't work. after that i have tried all versions: 6.x-1.2-beta5, 6.x-1.2-beta6, 6.x-1.2-beta7 and 6.x-1.x-dev but with no success.
So what did change? Maybe it's a Adobe flashplayer issue? As now this module Drutalk is useless since it doesn't work. Hope you will solve it soon
Comment #18
miccelito commentedYet no news for this issue?
The strange thing is that when I first installed Drutalk module (vers 6.x-1.2-beta7) in 18 Feb 2011, the module was working fine and I could see online users as online in the /drutalk window, but now I cannot. And I haven't changed anything with Drutalk module, Services module, amfphp module or User Relationships module. So I wonder if the issue is because of flashplayer update or a conflict with other module?
