I need a "log-in" menu item (Navigation or Primary link) that opens the log-in page, and then changes to "log-out" after a successful log-in. This would keep the viewing area nice-and-tidy for sites where visitors are not able to create an account, but where members need a visual log-in/log-out menu item.

I found it on another post...

To get the same functionality, go to '/admin/build/menu-customize/navigation' and click "Add Item". Use the following:
Path: user/login
Menu link title: Log in
Parent item:
Weight: 10
