The updatemanager isn't working if you use the admin overlay stuff. When navigation to www.example.com/admin/ and use the updatemanager from there, the update works just fine. I would say, that this is not an browser specific problem as I've tested it with FF3.6.13, Chromium 8 and Opera 11.

I don't know, if this may be server related, but I use a standard Debian Lenny with Apache 2.2 without any special configuration.

Title: Update Manager isn't workin in overlay mode!!! » DHTML Menu produces conflicts with Update Manager
Project: Drupal core » DHTML Menu
Version: 7.0-rc4 » 7.x-1.x-dev
Component: update.module » User Interface

I'm sorry for reporting this issue that fast without doing enough research on this.

This issue is not many related to the update module. There seems to be a conflict with the "DHTML Menu" module.

I moved this message to the DHTML Menu issues.

I just enabled both dhtml_menu and overlay on my test site and then ran a manual check for updates. The batch progress bar appears to work fine; I have tried this in Chromium 8 and Chrome 11.

What is the precise symptom you see when trying to run updates?

I also had this issue. When DHTML Menu is enabled I can't upgrade any modules. If I disable DHTML Menu I can then successfully upgrade other modules.

I navigate to admin/modules/update or admin/reports/updates/update and a module is listed for update, I select the checkbox and click "Download these updates", then the next page says "Downloading Updates" and the rest is blank.
If I then go and disable DHTML Menu and try again it updates correctly.

The latest dev appears to have fixed it.
