This may be a nice, extendable base for future development, but at this point it only offers three types of subscriptions:

  • all content by a specific user
  • all comments to content by a specific user
  • all comments

The most obvious use of Subscription, namely subscribing to a forum, seems not to be available, and no work has been done since April. Is this module dead?

Well, it seems like the author vanished immediately after publishing it: http://drupal.org/user/19641/track. The last version is for Drupal 4.6...

In the meantime, chx and I have rewritten the Subscriptions module from scratch and we're maintaining it actively.
