As a side effect of #868942: Redo image replacement handling the styles got re-parented. This totally messed up the CSS so it seems a good time to go in and clean it up and modernize it. This will be a work in progress for a bit with periodic commits so expect the styles to be messy for a while until it all stabilizes.
