i am logged in as admin, permissions seem fine. i get these errors when editing user profile. using content profile and cck, never had this problem before, why is it acting up all of a sudden? problem occurred before upgrading to 6.20 drupal. sometimes get 404 page not found.
what is the problem?

what do you see in the log?

if possible, can you disable non essential modules and check?

in the log it just says 'access denied' 'user/1/edit' and has it registered as 'Anonymous' even though I am the admin logged in with permissions enabled...?

strangest thing...I just updated a members profile and it worked, minus a big pink warning from activity module:

backup your db and run update.php once, it might fix the activity stream warning.

ok thanks, any ideas as to the access denied issue?
I need to wait for Location module and maybe possibly a couple others before upgrading to Drupal 7

Please try this and post your results and log entry

  1. Clear browser cookies
  2. Login as user 1 or admin
  3. Edit the profile

same as before...I am able to click edit and edit something but when I go to 'save' = 403 Permission Denied
You do not have permission for this request /user/1/profile/profile?destination=user%2F1

it was a cck field, i had to get rid of it... now only activity warning shows, but atleast i can save my edits...

moral of the story...

when creating user profiles based in content profile....cck fields present some sort of glitch...

If you have account profile module, it should be disabled.
