What is happening in my case is ALL of the instances where either of these characters "<" or ">" are used in a smiley shortcut, Drupal is stripping these and inserting this "&alt;"

It could be an input filter issue that is stripping these characters. The only filters I have enabled on my site is BBCode & Smileys. Perhaps the html filter must also be enabled...not sure.

Anyone else experiencing this?
