I recently bought a domain name and created a Drupal site, only to find that the name had many previous owners and many other sites were linking to pages on my site that are no longer there. (Serves me right for not checking the history before buying the name, but too late now).
I know I can create a redirection for all these "not found" pages using the "Path redirect" module, but there are literally thousands of incoming links to "not found" pages, sit it would take me ages.
For outgoing links I use the "link checker" module. This checks all outgoing links and it's possible to set it up so that if an outgoing link is "not found" a certain number of times it is marked as having been moved permanently.
Is there a module that does the same for incoming links?
I'm looking for something that will check all the INCOMING "not found" log, and if something appears more than a certain number of times it automatically (as opposed to manually)creates a 301 divert to my front page.
Anyone using anything that does this?

Power of links
Links = success on search engines. Those links might be worth many thousands of dollars. redirect them wisely and you might get a big search engine boost.
