Javascript issue on front page

First of all I love this Module, but I am having some issues with it. My contact page links back to the front page after submission but nothing shows up. After looking at it in chrome developer tools I can see that the js is giving an error on better_messages.js line 14 "Uncought TypeError: Cannot call method 'hasclass' of null".

I checked the permissions for all users, and whats weird is when I uncheck the anonymous user for Better Messages access then the message shows up but not HUD just a regular status message.
