It would be cool if there was a way to integrate bookmarks with the blog module so that users have the option to make their bookmarks visible to users who visit their blog.

yes, this would be really nice to have. Furthermore a taxonomy-based hierarchy would help organize the bookmarks. This two features could be combined to a killer-feature that allows selected user-groups to access bookmark-taxonomies that are marked as "shareable". Thus you will get some kind of shared link-collection like del.icio.us in small.

To make it perfect a bookmarklet to add links in a dropbox when browsing the net would also be nice.

http://www.tumultco.com/blog/index.php?p=21 details a new delicious "smart-tagging" plugin for wordpress.

It filters your posts and converts any words that match your existing delicious tags to links to those delicious pages. Very useful!

I have added a feature request to the delicious module http://drupal.org/node/8027

Re: making bookmarks (optionally) public -- does someone want to make a patch for this? If it either defaults to off or has a site-configurable default, I'll be happy to look at it.

Re: Integrating bookmarks with taxonomies -- bookmarks aren't nodes, and aren't going to become nodes (at least not as part of this module, though I think I remember someone else mentioning that they were going to create a similar module where bookmarks will be nodes) because that would break several ways of using this module -- for example, storing a per-user list of private bookmarks without needing to install and configure a node access control module. Unfortunately, since they're not nodes, that means they can't link in nicely with the taxonomy system. There's another open issue to add some sort of category support to bookmarks, which I'd like to see added to this module.

Re: who would use private bookmarks -- I do. :-) It's also useful for a site like rentalmonster.ca, which I believe lets users store a list of properties that they're interested in watching.

Re: importing Firefox bookmarks. That'd be nice (though it should be a separate issue). Is someone interested in looking at the Mambo code and porting it to Drupal?

Issue is more than a year old. If you still want this feature, please resubmit and I'll consider it.

I am very interested in organizing bookmarks, content, etc and allowing users to share those bookmarks... Any news options?
