Hi there,

I represent Sales-n-Stats development team. We're planning to develop Drupal integration module for Sales-n-Stats and we need advice from those of you who are running Drupal-based websites.

First of all, let me describe Sales-n-Stats a bit. It is visitor tracking and live communication software running on a desktop computer. When site visitor performs a logical action (for example, posts a comment or votes in a poll), information about this action (votes, comments, etc...) can be displayed in his profile at Sales-n-Stats side.

We understand that Drupal already has its own action tracking. Sales-n-Stats would be able to keep chat & page view history as well as site actions altogether. In addition, the software would be able to generate reports based on the collected data.

We'd like to know what kind of information is important to you as a Drupal site owners:

  • what logical visitor actions you want to be recorded?
  • what kind of statistics would you like to include in reports?

Currently we've come up with the following set of visitor actions:

  • Register (parameters: Login, E-mail)
  • Search (parameters: Search phrase)
  • Post comment (parameters: Text, Subject, Content name)
  • Post to blog (parameters: Blog post title)
  • Write a post to forum (parameters: Post title, Forum name)
  • Create a poll (parameters: Poll name)
  • Vote in a poll (parameters: Poll name, Choice)

A site operator will be able to see all the actions that the visitors performed. The information is recorded to each visitor's individual profile and can be included into the reports.

Another exciting feature of Sales-n-Stats is once a visitor registers on the site, he will be recognized by Sales-n-Stats every time he enters the site. The operator will be able to track his registration info as well as all his action, page views, and communication history.

This job is intended for Drupal users, and there is a free edition of Sales-n-Stats, so that everyone here will benefit from making contributions :)

Sounds cool to me... would be very handy for e-commerce applications to have. I'd be interested in knowing how easy it was for my customers to find what they were looking for, and tracking the number of pageviews till checkout would be helpful. (I suppose some people will always just browse a while... but I know I usually go to an e-commerce store with a specific product in mind.)

A simple way to track referrer URLs would be cool, too. Granted, Google Analytics does this kind of stuff. We use that know and are pretty happy with it... Do you have any comparison between the type of statistics Google serves up and your app?

And you mentioned this is a non-browser application? How would that work on a network w/ people from a few different terminals wanting to track stats?

Not yet, but Google has some stats missing from Sales-n-Stats and vice versa. Google is missing some e-commerce stats we have. But this feature is not for drupal, rather for e-commerce software, which are currently X-Cart, LiteCommerce, osCommerce, CRE Loaded, and Zen Cart. Although you can create your own reports based on Drupal actions.

Sales-n-Stats currently distinguishes the following actions in Drupal:

1. Registration
2. Login
3. Site search
4. Post a comment
5. Write blog post
6. Write forum post
7. Create poll
8. Vote

There is also special 'search engine search' action, which happens when a visitor is coming from a search engine.

You can map actions to icons in Site Monitor, e.g. Yahoo! icon appears and displays search phrase when a visitor comes from Yahoo.

Multiple terminals is the Enterprise Edition feature. You install Data Center (which is also a desktop application) and login with Terminals from different computers. This functionality is not complete yet (we gonna make Data Center a Windows service). But standalone beta version will be available soon.

Hi all,

I notice Qualiteam released new version of Sales-n-Stats software, currently it includes Drupal integration out-of-the-box and number of improvements. Accoring to manual it supports both drupal 4.7.x and 5.x.xx.

To my mind, it is great step forward. I use Sales-n-Stats with Drupal for last half a year (mostly for visitors monitoring and analysis) and pleased with its features and flexibility. I do the integration myself and it is very simple. Build-in integration should be far better than mine. :)

It is beta but I believe there are no major issues.
