How to crop

neoliminal - December 7, 2006 - 18:06

Assume you want a 50X50 thumbnail.

Now assume you have an image 100X150 that you want a thumbnail of.

Which 50 px do you crop out of the image? The top? The bottom? Center 25 off top and bottom?

Gallery2 allows for square

Gallery2 allows for square thumbnailing. I mention this is case someone wants to take a peek at Gallery2's code and see what they can pull out.

Imagecache is the best

The current best way to do this is with the imagecache module. CCK + Views + Imagefield + Imagecache is the current best way to do photos and galleries in Drupal.

Package?

Tomsawyer123 - December 11, 2006 - 09:48

is there a package easy to install or do i have to install those 4 modules one after another?

Thanks for your reply

Florian

Install them individually

You have to install them and learn to use them. Views, especially, is not trivial, but it is worth it.
