Rather than integrating, why not import?
http://drupal.org/project/phpbb2drupal

Hope this helps!

I'm also looking for phpBB3 integration with Drupal 7. Can anyone help me, or point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance!

I'd like to integrate, if not integrate transfer my users/forums/posts to Drupal 7, anyone working on this?

The phpBB team are the people who work on the integrator (to the best of my knowledge). You're probably better off asking them on the phpBB site.

I've been following their progress on their forums the bridge hasn't been updated in 3 months. So I assume the project is already dead.

Which is why I also stated transferring everything over would be an option as well.

Does anyone think it would be possible to use the current phpbb2drupal module to transfer everything over and then follow through again with a Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 conversion?

I feel that due to the current dead projects here at Drupal this is probably my best bet.

I would imagine that would work. Haven't actually tried it myself, but many people have successfully ran upgrades from 6 to 7.

I can't see a reason that wouldn't work but my suggestion would be to consider if that is something you actually want to do. You came here looking to integrate your phpBB into Drupal, anything less than that is probably going to be a disappointment to you.

I run a fairly large forum on Drupal and it certainly has some limitations to just running a stock VB or phpBB. But it works for me because I needed it to be firmly integrated into the rest of my site.

If you aren't a programmer and really want to use phpBB, consider putting a bounty up for someone to finish the 'bridge' module.

If you do decide to just use the Drupal forums, this group will become your best friend http://groups.drupal.org/forum-improvements

We even had a discussion about the phpBB bridge, it's benefits and it's limitations http://groups.drupal.org/node/88084

I'm currently going through a conversion from smf -> phpbb -> drupal 6 -> drupal 7 and the hardest part has been dealing with all of the errors in upgrading from drupal 6 to 7, you might not have a problem but some have (including myself).

1) Was unable to add forum content as administrator (ridiculous) http://drupal.org/node/1157142#comment-4900024
Still working on that problem.

2) Undefined install profile + undefined index in user import from drupal 6

3) Almost all of the modules I used in Drupal 6 for making drupal forums better are still not out for Drupal 7 (user ranking and such, smileys etc..)

Generally, I wouldn't recommend going to Drupal 7 at this point for any sort of forum use. It has quite a way to go, your better off sticking with phpbb until more support in the community to make a full fledged native forum.

Maybe an alternative is to just integrate the whole phpbb-page. Unless you have drupal-users that you want to integrate inte phpBB-forum, there is no need to integrate the forum in itself. Lets say you have a webpage with just static pages and a forum, then you just integrate an external page where the phpbb-forum resides.
