Enabled the module and tryed redirecting:

node/75 -> http://www.google.com

simply does not work: old path is followed. no errors thrown.

I'm on multisite with shared database, Drupal 4.7.2, latest version of pathredirect.

This sounds very much like a duplicate of #97399. There is a possible fix here, but I'm not certain it's exactly the same issue.
