I know that support for 4.7.x is waning, but maybe for 5.0 would it be difficult to create a checkbox that would allow the link to link to itself? So that users could post their own self-written content.
The other issue is does voteup/down already check for duplicate entries? If not would it be hard to add?

frjo commented1. I understand what kind of function you need, more info please.
2. Yes, Vote up/down checks for duplicate URLs. Try it and you will see how it works.

animeh commentedReflexive posting: When someone submits an article currently, they put in the name, url and blurb and when the post is created the Title link refers you to the original article which is great, but sometimes people want to post their own post, as in Reddit when people want to make suggestions to the Reddit staff. On Reddit you click a button that says "this post refers to itself" or something and then when the post is created and you click the Title link it refers you back to the node page. Would that be difficult to create?
Also on Duplicate postings, is there a setting I am not seeing because my page is allowing duplicate posts.

frjo commentedCan you not simple use one of the node types in core story/page/blog or create a new one with CCK?
You may attach a voting widget to any node type you like.
More resent version of Vote up/down (4.7 as well as HEAD) checks for duplicates in the submitted URL.

formicin commentedCan we make it a more digg like, when the link is already submitted, show user a message like "Cool, this story has already been submitted.
Digg the story yourself to make your vote count." and show the submitted story link node?
