Currently the display is hardcoded to show all days (showing only 4 days at a time), and the drag/navigate shows months (showing only 4 months at a time).

I want to be able to:

- display an entire week, or month, or year at a time, and;

- display an entire month, or year, or several years at a time in the drag/navigate area

Additionally, it would be NICE if I could give the visitor controls to select from several different ranges of time to display.

Changeset [56426] adds the ability to specify which time interval units to use on the upper and lower bands of the timeline display. (The choices are: second, minute, hour, day, week, month, year, decade, century, and millennium.)

To test it out, grab the latest nightly snapshot (4.7.x-1.x-dev) and go to the admin/timelines screen to configure the timeline interval settings.

(Currently I have no plans to add a runtime selection for changing the intervals on the fly.)
