I need a module that will crawl another site and automatically post the content onto my site.

This will probably not get into drupal, because of copyright issues.
There have been similar modules in the past, but none have been maintained. I for one, am firmly opposed against any mechanisms that make stealing content easy. I beleive some of the Drupal developers think simlar in this.

If you would write something like: "I would like a module to import my old static website". Or " a module that can synchronise certain wikipedia articles with my site" I think there might be more willingness to spend some time on this.

I see what your saying I should have noted that it is meant to obtain content from another site that I own.

If it hasn't been implemented, how is it "fixed"?

However, based on #1, and my own opinion that this is likely more of a contrib issue than core, "won't fix" seems perfectly fine.
