Hello!

I've read a lot of thread here where users asket about how legal is to sell modules and themes for Drupal, as well as the GPL licensing conditions, but i have some other question.

For example i would like to create services, where i will provide some web-pages to my clients based on Drupal. I will configure it, create custom modules and themes for clients and take all care about their web-sites (based on Drupal).

How far is it legal and must i share my source code of themes and modules to my clients?

It is perfectly legal to charge for services, hosting, development, themeing, ect.

And what is about if it's based on drupal? Must i share my sources with clients?

You are not forced to share your code under GPL (unless you wish to), especially if you provide it as a service.

Please, someone who is native with GPL License conditions, could answer here?

you really need to consult a lawyer-- the GPL as it affects web applications is quite a complex and hotly debated topic.

Hm, sure the developers should know if it's possible to take charges for such a service.

if you google around about it you'll see that there is a lot of disagreement on this topic-- including amongst developers. besides, one should never make a legal business decision without a lawyer. if you get sued, what will be your response? A link to a forum post?
