Your work is just awsome... You should take over the project. Sad that it is digged in issue queue !

As I'm trying to build a module for developpers to handle forms alterations with a UI, I have to use it. Coupling it with Views 3 it is possible to have a multi-add autocompletion that is searching on multiple fields (thanks to Views 3 "OR" feature) with HTML autocomplete output to replicate facebook way to add people for messages for example.
