Garland Sidebar

I've spent 16 hours trying to change Garland sidebar width and I must say that I've been more successful with women than with that style.css b****.
Please help, me and 30,000 people that come every week to argue about "will it fly or not" really need a slimmer Garland layout.
P.S. Also we need to set up a secure registration / login that would guard againt robots, brut force, etc. Any suggestions before I waste another 16 hours of my life?
P.S.S. Yes, I know.. It's the second post about Garland sidebars...

It's impossible task. Garland sidebar width is controled by the theme original author only.
Come on people, grow up! You can't get free color and sidebar width selection at the same time.
Real world doesn't work this way.
