The "Initial date focus" setting does not seem to allow "First event in timeline" or "Last event in timeline" dates before 1 January 1970. With date ranges that start prior to 1970, the "Initial date focus" defaults to 1970.

Also, the "Last event in timeline" seems to be pulling up today's date even though there are no CCK date fields (or Event date fields) populated with a contemporary date. The last populated CCK date field is 2 January 1975; there are currently no Event records.

Duplicate of #90594 - historical dates as a whole need to be addressed.

Regarding the 'last event in timeline' option: it's an unimplemented feature so it does default to the current date at the moment. This will be fixed in the next release of the module.
