It appears that after submitting a revision to a node, the user gets redirected to the home page rather then to the existing node? Is this true or is there something I need to set up differently?

By the way, this is a great module addition. I thought that the moderation queue would automatically do this. Maybe this will be considered a part of core at some point?

I'm not able to reproduce this on Drupal 4.7.6. When I submit a new revision with publishing settings set on: Create new revision & New revisions in moderation, I'm redirected to the node view (not the revisions list).

I thought that the moderation queue would automatically do this.
Quote from the project description:

The default behaviour of Drupal under these circumstances is to unpublish the entire node when new revisions are present. However, this is not usually desirable, since that makes the node inaccessible to all but node administrators.

The Revision Moderation module allows you to leave existing revisions of a node published while new revisions go into moderation for an administrator to approve.
