We have some issues that deal with Activity:
#738516: Can't create an activity for a flag of type user
#836524: Comment Tokens not working in Reactive Rules
#836438: Flag "like" provided by Facebook-style Statuses (Microblog) module available in Activity templates
What should we do with these issues? Also: Why should we do with these?
Wouldn't it be best if we drop the Activity integration? Then interested parties could start a new, maintained module for it.
===
BTW, another threat looms on the horizon: #831390: Flag and context modules integration. On the one hand, these "integrations" are a nice thing; on the other hand, there's nobody here to support them and we the maintainers need to divert time into handling them instead of into Flag itself.

quicksketchI'd agree that we should probably drop activity integration. Generally less-popular modules (Activity: 2000) need to support the more popular ones (Flag: 20,000).

mooffie CreditAttribution: mooffie commentedI've notified Activity's developers of this: #1032298: Flag is likely to drop Activity support
Comment #3
Scott Reynolds CreditAttribution: Scott Reynolds commentedThis discussion for Activity in Drupal 7 has been for us, Activity module maintainers, to maintain the various integrations. So I am ok with this.

mooffie CreditAttribution: mooffie commentedScott: will you have the Flag integration in Drupal 6 as well?
Nate: I'll remove the Activity integration in a couple of days, unless you veto this.
(I also posted a message in "Flag Friend"'s issue queue, though I don't know if it's relevant there.)

quicksketchSounds good. Let's use the "we support more popular modules, less popular modules support us" mantra as a basic rule in the future (exceptions allowed when needed), so we can avoid flipping implementations in the future. Thanks mooffie!

ajayg CreditAttribution: ajayg commentedJust want to point that you may also want to remove the specific mention on the project home page that Flag 2.x support "Activity 2 Integration", when this is finally done.
mooffie CreditAttribution: mooffie commented@ajayg: that's one reason why I asked Scott about Drupal 6 (comment #4).
mooffie CreditAttribution: mooffie commentedI posted our Activity integration in Activity's queue. I linked there from our homepage. If things go slow we'll remove the "flag supports activity" ad altogether.
