i checked this setting named Submit sitemap to Google on cron run, but after a while i saw this nice feature pings google every cron run (what the text says - ok). But therefor every hour, we tell google there are changes, please re-download the sitemap. This makes no sense and I'd like to name this Search Engine ping spamming.
I'd like to use the "on cron run" setting, while i think it is much much better to do this pinging on hourly basis. For e.g. if i changed an article, saved it and then re-edit this one within some minutes, every "save" will do a ping to google, if Submit sitemap to Google when updated is active? I think i can really name this ping spamming!
please change the code and only do a ping "on cron run" if there have been changes until the last cron run...

darren ohFixed in CVS commit 65328.
The option to submit the site map as soon as it is updated has not changed, but cron will only submit the site map if there have been unsubmitted changes.
