canadrian commentedIt's been a while... has there been any progress on this? Is it very complicated? I would be willing to help out if it's not too difficult.
yecarrillo commentedI'm working now on this upgrade. Testing is on progress at http://drupal5.eduin.carrillovega.com. Keep in touch.
spooky69 commentedThe link above does not seem to work. How is the update going yecarillo?
spooky69 commentedAny further news as yet?
fries commentedI've been trying to work on this myself, following the rules over at http://drupal.org/node/64279 for the last couple of days. All I've managed to do is get the module to appear in the drupal admin. It would seem the problem is the use of form callbacks in 5.0, and the fact that it would be necessary to convert the many forms within the module.
spooky69 commentedNot being funny, but is the developer currently working on this module? Would love to see this ported to 5.1.
mcncyo commentedI will also like to have this feature.
spooky69 commentedAny progress on a Drupal 5 update for this module?
markfoodyburton commentedAdd a me too to the noise :-)
spooky69 commentedMore noise... ;-)
spooky69 commentedAny chance of getting the upgrade moving yecarrillo?
shunshifu commentedYeah I'd certainly be interested also. Very cool module.

spooky69 commented*** crying ***
Perhaps yecarrillo could say whether or not this module will be updated, as it has been 3 months since he said that he was working on it. If this is not going to be udpated, which I really hope is NOT the case, then at least let us poor souls know yecarrillo ;-)

iamwill commentedAny luck on getting this module to 5.1??
Tmanagement commentedI have converted this module and it is working for me in Drupal 5.1. I also have had contact with the developer of this module and he will put everything online.
spooky69 commentedFantastic news! Any idea how long it will be before it is available?
Tmanagement commentedWell the maintainer said he would put it online upcomming weekend. In the meantime I could send it to you by email. In addition, a remark must be made since I found a major bug which will delete an email account when customized profiles are being updated. I already told the developer about it so maybe he can easily fix it before he will put it online.
So if you want to have it right away, email me or ask me to put it online as an attachement.
spooky69 commentedI use customised profiles so the bug would potentially be quite significant. I appreciate the offer you made, but think perhaps I should wait until the bug is resolved. Perhaps a comment from the module maintainer about this?
Tmanagement commentedOk, good call if you ask me. I do think however that the bug can be solved easily by a programmer. If the maintainer is not planning to solve it I will for certain. I have already bought some php books and will start reading them around juli I think so this module will work for certain in the end of juli ;)
spooky69 commentedIs it actually getting deleted? Is the username and password still listed on the user account page? Perhaps this is where the confusion is coming from? I seem to remember some discussion previously about whether it should use the drupal username and password ....
canadrian commentedOk Yecarrillo hasn't touched this thread in a very long time, and his test site at http://drupal5.eduin.carrillovega.com is unreachable. Is it possible for some kind code-minded soul to take over this module? I mean, I would really like to make this module an integral feature of my site, and I don't think I'm alone there, but it seems to have stagnated. Drupal 6 is in code-freeze, and they're already talking about Drupal 7, and this module hasn't been ported to Drupal 5 yet. Don't get me wrong - I appreciate all the hard work that selfless codies put into all these open-source modules for the good of the community, and I realize it's a lot of hard work. I really appreciate that this module even exists in any form. But it would be really nice to see it get updated... perhaps we can bring in help from the maintainer of the Subdomain module? Maybe the functionality of all the CPanel-related modules can be merged somehow.
webmasterkai commentedOur firm Sundays Energy will help take over maintenance and development of this module. We will be expanding the feature set to also allow for cpanel account creation for WHM users. Check for updates in the next week for an early dev version!
canadrian commentedThis is excellent news! Thank you very much!
simewebmasterkai - Are you going to be the maintainer? Is there a work-in-progress patch?
webmasterkai commentedyes, we (Sundays Energy) are in active development. Joe Turgeon (detour) is the actual programmer working his magic on the WHM and Cpanel projects. Our approach is to start at the top (whm account creation) and work our way down (cpanel = email, ftp, sub-domain, add-on domain, parked domain). A basic WHM integration module can be found at http://drupal.org/project/whm - A few more features to WHM and the Drupal 5 cpanel modules are next on the list. Stay tuned.
simeOK. if you like you can email me a bounty for SQL db creation (and deletion) support etc. I'd be happy not to code this myself.
I assume you know that you need a CVS account, and in turn this needs some sort of announcement from yecarillo that you are the new maintainer.
simeAh, detour is with your company.
arithmetric commentedI have released a module for WebHost Manager (WHM) integration in Drupal. The module enables a user and application-programming interface to the WHM functions (create account, list accounts, [un]suspend accounts) for a specified reseller account. The CVS account is still pending, but you can download it now from:
http://installdrupal.com/modwhm
Comment #30
arithmetric commentedThe WHM integration module is now available in the Drupal projects. For more information, see:
http://drupal.org/project/whm
Comment #31
jcm04f commentedIs the cpanel module ready for 5 yet?
Tmanagement commentedIt is ready but there is a bug in it which was also present in the 4.7 version. It seems that when you visit some tabs in your profile and save or edit it your cpanel account will be deleted. Since this was also the case in the 4.7 version you can read the issues of 4.7 for more information.
If you still want to use it you can email me and I will send it to you. I still want to solve that problem but did not have the time yet to find it all out and solve it.
Tmanagement commentedHereby as an attachment cpanel for drupal 5.x USE AT OWN RISK SINCE THE OLD BUG WHICH IS IN VERSION 4.7 STILL EXIST!
The bug occurs when you want to change something on a different tab then where your tick box for cpanel is within your profile page. Try it out and you will see what I mean. Same bug is noted for version 4.7 so see for more information there.
himagarwal commentedDoes anyone has stable cPanel module for drupal 5? I'm in great need of it.
vinayras commentedIt seems this module is going to die out silent death.
Also i see that http://drupal.org/project/whm is released for 5.x - and seems to be doing good (as it is written).
It is clear that both modules are trying to achieve same purpose - but none of them have active work going on.
I am planning to work on 6.x version of whm module - but i see that cpanel module has more issue request / responses - that means it is more active in terms of demands.
So which module to proceed with?
Thanks
Vinay

Flying Drupalist commentedVinay, these two modules serve different purposes. whm creates accounts, and cpanel controls email and ftp access. Both should be updated to 6.x
Comment #37
himagarwal commentedVinay. Both are different. but cPanel module is off course more in demand as it is still not updated to 5.x
I would really like to see cPanel module for 5.x.
Thanks.
yecarrillo commentedI agree. I created cpanel module to provide email accounts to my website users. The other module is more devoted to hosting websites giving full cpanel access to their users.
himagarwal commentedyecarrillo, do you have this module or anything kinda similar module for drupal 5.x that provides email accounts to website users?
webmasterkai commentedI should have a stable version of cpanel for 5.x this week and an update to whm for 5.x next week.
himagarwal commentedwebmasterkai, we all would appreciate if you can attach the stable version here......
:-)
webmasterkai commentedThis version is for the x3 theme. I think I'll create an option to pick what theme is being used. Do people still use x? I'll also create an option to use SSL.
The bug on the user page is fixed (as far as I can tell, please test) in this version. I also changed the titles of the checkboxes to "Yes, I want...". Only one checkbox for Mail and one for FTP. Before mail had two, not really sure why. Unchecking the box deletes the account. Checking the box creates the account. Keeping the box checked does nothing(hopefully). The bug had to do with the submit function being activated in tabs that were not the user 'account' area ($category). Checked on cPanel Version 11.24.1-CURRENT build 31497 using theme x3, non-SSL, using the stand 2082 port.
webmasterkai commentedpatch against 4.7.x-1.0
Comment #44
ahales commentedI have updated this from drupal 5 to drupal 6. Some testing required. Please email me at ahales@sunnylodge.net for a copy of the drupal 6 cpanel module.

sadist commentedi'm planning to get back my server with cpanel account. it has been so long that i've not been using this.
firstly, can any experienced user with this module tell me whether this updated module works?
thanks.
sadist commented@ahales
i tried your module version with my new cpanel and it doesn't seems to do anything.
for this module, i'd configured the settings and all, which is very straight forward. but when i tried creating a new account either through admin or registration form, there's no new email account created.
at the bottom of the profile/edit page, i supposed that i have to tick and save that. still, no email account been created.
is there anything else that i have to configure? thanks.

jweberg commentedCan we get some dev branches for 5.x and 6.x?
pursuitofliberty commentedyep, I am also looking for this feature for 6.x so that when a new account is created, an email account is also created, and when the account is deleted, the cpanel email is also deleted.
pursuitofliberty commentedI just installed the cpanel 6 module that was linked here... I added the permissions and setup the config..
When i create a new account it gives me the option to create the account, but when I checked cpanel there was no new account added.
greenbeans commentedI would find this immensely useful for D6 as well.
mgungora commentedI would like to contribute a patch for this module for drupal 6. Is there a development branch for 6? How do I proceed?
yecarrillo commentedSure mgungora. Please post your patch in the form below.
