Is it possible to have the pager on top of the slideshow? Like the Tour on gowalla.com which has a set of circles at the bottom of each slide, and then you click the circle corresponding to the slide you wish to see.

You can have a look at the commercial slideshow themes, the homepage: http://ddblock.myalbums.biz and the sites using ddblock page for an impression what is possible.
