The calendar looks ugly with a dark theme (I use theme Mayo color theme Moss). I made a screenshot to show the result. I hope it can be fixed.

I don't think there is a way to customize Mayo for all modules. Did you consider creating a sub-theme of Mayo and playing with the css to improve the look?

well, the standard calendar still looks ugly with a dark theme. calendar, IMHO, is a really important module, if I had my way, it and the event stuff would be in core.
