Friends,

Preparing to add WYSIWYG functionality to a soon-to-be-6.x site (upgrading from 5.x). The site has many existing nodes into which "Full HTML" was entered.

I am looking for brief advice on steps for installation/configuration that will introduce few/no problems with the formatting of *existing* content when WYSIWYG (probably with TinyMCE) is enabled.

A couple years ago I recall adding WYSIWYG to a site and it monkeyed with existing line breaks, etc., in a major headache-producing way that I hope to avoid this weekend ;)

Many thanks!

CKeditor is pretty solid. But like all WYSIWYG editors, you have to be careful that you set it up properly for your site.

Right, that's what I'm trying to sort out in advance of an install/enable. With CKeditor (or others?), are there configuration options I should set a certain way to be sure that existing Full HTML doesn't get eaten/changed/etc? Looking for some specifics if anyone has 'em. My concern is that in course of install/configure, some nodes will get permanently screwy. Thanks.

make sure that you have set up input formats to allow linebreaks.
