Google Analytics module for Drupal 6.x, used on c. ~108k websites, now only supports the 3.x branch and the current release of that branch requires "Token 6.x-1.16". The maintainer has confirmed that until Token 1.16 is released, the current 6.x-1.x dev version of Token is required:#1035030-2: Why is token 6.x-1.16 (or latest DEV) recommended and 7.x-1.0-beta1 required? Answer in #3

It'd be great if a stable Token 6.x-1.16 could be released, so those of us who do not want to be on the -dev upgrade path can have the compatible versions of these modules...

(i.e., module maintainer has confirmed it is required in some circumstances...)

Well I'm not responsible if you made your module dependent on a development version. It's not something I forced. Feel free for anyone subscribing to this issue to help backport issues that were fixed in 7.x-1.x, so that we actually can release.

Dave,

I agree: http://drupal.org/node/1035030#comment-3992114. But really bad this happened :-( ...

Bump.
Unrelated to the GA issue at all, but I just found we were bitten by #333590: Node menu token fails (node grants not saved yet, menu access checking, oh my!)
- logged in 2008
- fixed (Thanks Dave) in June 2010 for D7
- backported and apparently committed to D6 in Nov 2010

May 2011, the recommended stable for D6 is dated Oct 2010 - so, this bugfix is still not available without branching or following dev.

I've got no huge problem switching to dev, but are there really any huge D6 blockers that really prevent an interim stable to catch us up from the last half-year?

So just, y'know, nudge, nudge bump bump.
