Hi everyone.
Do you plan to make a port of this module on drupal 7 ?
I hardly need this module to migrate my site...
Thanks a lot for your answer

Grayside commentedHi folks, sorry for the long silence.
I have no time to work on a 7.x branch right now, and am marking the project page as Seeking Co-Maintainers in the hope that someone wants to work on porting either 1.x or 3.x to Drupal 7. My use for it is currently limited to my personal blog site, which is a relatively low priority.
I have been approached by some people interested in porting 6.x-1.x, and hopefully work emerges. If someone wants to port 1.x, they should find someone willing to be a co-maintainer of the project in charge of that branch, as I have had minimal participation in it's development to date, and do not intend to use it myself.
Anyone willing to help with 3.x, more than welcome. I am upgrading my personal blog in the next weeks and will put a push on 6.x-3.x in that time to get it more stable for a 7.x upgrade.

Jimmed commentedI desperately need this ported to D7, and if necessary I'll do it myself. Is there any voodoo in your code I should watch out for?
slcp commentedI may be interested in porting or helping port 1.x to D7 as I will be upgrading a site that currently uses it in the coming month or two.
I have not had a look at 3.x in any way but the road map and what you are trying to achieve appeals to me very much.
Likely scenario will be porting 1.x for immediate use first, then potentially getting involved with 3.x after looking at the code.

Jimmed commentedI have started work on a 7.x-1.x-alpha version, as of last night. Once I have something nearly working, I will publish this. It seems to me that this should not be difficult to achieve in the next couple of days - the only potential problem being that the way text filters work has changed since D6, and some serious rewriting may be necessary.

Grayside commented@Jimmed one of the tasks in a clean upgrade is fixing the broken, ancient parts of the module in Version 1, such as a proper database schema. Feel free to contact me if you need any suggestions.

Sparhawk104 commentedAny progress on this? I'm very interested in a port, due to freelinking being an integral part of my current project and there doesn't seem to be any other modules that can replace its functions. Any info will be greatly appreciated! :)

Grayside commented@Jimmed this module has a habit of absorbing 12 hours of your time, taking a great stride or two forward, and then getting hung for an extended period of time. Any kind of patch that I can use to start a 7.x branch would be useful, then other people can share the burden.

juampynr commentedGrayside, could you create a 7.x branch so I can start submitting patches for it?

capnjav commentedFirst and foremost thanks @Grayside for your ongoing development of feelinking 6.x-3.x.
@Jimmed thanks for your work on a port of freelinking 6.x-1.x, as its certainly a step in the right direction. Any updates, you mentioned in comment #17 that you we nearing completion of an alpha.
juampynr commented@Jimmed, I would like to collaborate in the porting to Drupal 7. Could you post your progress here or somewhere? (Github?).
I submitted functional tests for 6.x-3.x which should be very helpful to ensure the porting works as expected. They still need to be validated by @Grayside, but please do have a look at them at http://drupal.org/node/1221614 and post your thoughts.

juampynr commentedI have started working in a Drupal 7 port at https://github.com/juampy72/freelinking/tree/7.x-1.x.
So far the module installs correctly and can be configured and selected to be used. However, there are the following pending issues wich I will be working over the following days:
If anyone wants to help, please submit a patch.

juampynr commentedI have made most of the plugins work. There are still some warnings due to undefined indexes and review the plugins file, image and wikinews. Progress can be seen at https://github.com/juampy72/freelinking/commits/7.x-1.x.
@Grayside, I need you to have a look at the progress.

juampynr commentedAssigned task.

Grayside commentedJust a quick check in. I will be looking at the tests and the current upgrade status later this week. I've been out of town this last week and could not get online.

juampynr commentedI have upgraded freelinking module completelly to Drupal 7. All test pass and there are no warnings. There may be some edge cases which I have not stumbled upon yet. I will now start migrating freelinking_prepopulate to Drupal 7.
Progress can be followed at https://github.com/juampy72/freelinking/commits/7.x-1.x
