Hi all,

Going down to sunny Spain (Canary Islands) this Christmas, I have decided to spend some time getting to know Drupal better. I have installed Drupal 5.0 RC 1 and everything is working great. So my question is this, what should I read to get to know Drupal? I won’t have access to the Internet.

I have downloaded most of the videocasts from the Dudertown website and will download videocast from the Lullabot website (can anyone recommend any other good Drupal videocast sites?).

What about Building Online Communities with Drupal, published by Apress or Drupal by David Mercer? Both are about earlier versions of Drupal, so should I buy anyone of them when I plan to learn Drupal 5.0

Perhaps you can recommend any other Drupal books, videocast or websites.

Thank you

Rask

Hi all,

Can it really be, that no one has any comments to my questions?

See questions above.

In the summer, when I first considered using Drupal, I believe I bought "Building Online Communities with Drupal." It is fine for getting a basic introduction to Drupal. It will teach you the basics. However, I was hoping it would go into detail when it came to doing interesting and obscure things with it, and it didn't.

And I wasn't satisfied with the way it tried to explain taxonomies.

I might be thinking of another book (it's at home, so I can't say for certain) but the book I remember was strictly for beginners, and there wasn't anything in it that helped you move to the next level.
