The automatic conversion worked for my nodes, but failed on my blocks. I made sure move the internal path filter to the lowest weight (highest position) in admin/settings/filters, but the automatic conversion still failed when creating links in blocks. The only way to get this to work in a block is to manually add the "internal:" to all links.

It seems like the automation should work the same way for blocks as it does with regular nodes.

I'm unable to reproduce this. The input filter seems to run without issue for blocks. In any case, this is a duplicate of #904972: internal:path is not converted to absolute URL when editing a Block
