Hello, and thank you for applying for a CVS account.

To update modules via CVS is not necessary an account; Drupal.org CVS repository can be accessed as anonymous user; a CVS account is only required to make commits (which means, to create a project on Drupal.org, and have write access to the repository of the created module).
