two-month calendar view

The default appearance of the event calendar block shows the current calendar month. Very nice. But at the end of a month, the calendar shows events that have alread passed. Future events from the next month are not displayed. For an organization that holds one event at the beginning of the month, this display serves less as a handy reminder of future events and more as a taunting "nyah, nyah, nyah!" pointing to events already missed.

Request:
I'd like to have a calendar block that displays two calendars, this month and next month.

Configuration:
settings >> event >> "Table view default period:"
Determines how many events are listed in the feed. Perhaps when this is set >=60 days, the block will display two month calendars (Perhaps >=90 should display three months?)

In the alternative:
If this ability already exists, please deliver a gentle whack with a clue-stick along with a link to the answer. I wasn't able to find it on my own.
