Empty field handling

Splitting issue from #1038118: Unable to save any field mappings; all created taxonomy terms are empty; Patch by nephele attached.

There is a possibility that empty terms can be created if the node field associated with a term's title is empty. It might be best to make the node field in question a required field rather than checking if it's empty during term creation.
