I think it is a pitty that imagefield does not give the option to set a custom url to link images somewhere (views, external links etc). Would be great to integrate it in cck as an optional function...

I agree... it would be great to have this module NOT as a new field type, but just as a WIDGET or EXTENSION of a normal IMAGE TYPE.
Otherwise you miss a lot of usefull functions: eg: Lightbox galleries.

Development or support is not planned for D6. All D6-related issues are marked as outdated in a bunch.
