An initial port has been committed. There is an issue with the event date displaying on the user signup tab: #1058244: Date field is empty on user signup view.

Bump! It's one year old by now and it's still not fully ported to Drupal 7!

With stable releases of views and date, this is now working enough to consider the initial port done for the basic feature.
